Home

Hi Friends,

Claire and Jeff came home this morning. They are so glad to be here! All four grandparents have taken Lydie on an outing to the toy store to choose some gifts for her 2nd birthday, which is coming up. We sent them in Doug's truck, as I am sure they will bring home a truckload of goodies!

Claire, Jeff and I are going on one errand to complete the paperwork for the cremation. They are ready to get that over with. Last week while my family was at Tybee, a dear family friend who is an artist helped us with a special creation... the boys, doug and I and our friend JoJo (as my boys call her) painted a container for Baby Mac's ashes. It is actually a sugar bowl with a lid, and that is what we are all calling it... the sugar bowl. It is baby blue, with some sweet clouds on the top and pretty grasses on the bottom. All of our fingerprints are on the bottom as well and it says "we love you, baby mac".

Claire & Jeff slept very well last night and are feeling much better, both physically and emotionally, this morning.

Things are seeming a bit surreal today, after all that happened yesterday. Everyone is looking around at each other, wondering what to do next... the reality is that Lydie needs to be cared for, they need to eat, and the dog needs to be walked. Life, and all of its normalcies, are going to be good therapy for them in the coming days.

It is good to be home.

Thanks for the prayers.

love kathie

He was beautiful! Thank you so much for the updates. Especially the words from Mac's baptism. Surely there was a celebration in heaven when Jesus said to Mac, "welcome home". Our hearts are broken for you and you continue to be in our thoughts and prayers throughout the day. It's good to hear that you are getting a little normalcy. Even though his life was short, Mac sure made an impact on many people! In love, Leah and Ken Podratz

Claire and Jeff,
You don't know me but I almost feel like a member of the family after keeping up with Kathie's beautiful updates. My daughter, Laura, is a good friend of Kathie's. I have been thinking about you and sweet Baby Mac constantly. I know that your lives will never be the same but the intense love, support and prayers that surrounded all of you yesterday will surely help to sustain you. You can be certain that little Mac knew that love as he made his way to heaven. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you begin to heal. Love, Sally Houghton

Claire and Jeff,
I just heard the news today. I am so sorry for your loss and can not imagine the trials you have been through in the preceding months. There is little anyone can do at times like these but turn to God and ask Him to take this weight off of your shoulders, which of course He will. There is comfort in knowing that Mac will never feel any pain and has the joy of experiencing the glory that Heaven has to offer. I hope that this experience will serve to strengthen your relationship with Christ and each other. Laurel and I will be praying for you all.

What a truly beautiful child! Mom and Dad, please know that your Baby Mac has, in his short time here, had a profound impact on others that you do not even know. He has grabbed our attention by the heart, and taught us to better love. Thank you Baby Mac. I'll continue to pray for the peace and comfort of your dear family.
